Partnerships: A Key to Meeting Today's Requirements and Tomorrow's Challenges
Dr. Jirong Xiao - Vice President, Products and Technology, Chevron Oronite LLC

Abstract
Today, the fuels, lubricants and additives industries face a more complex, diverse and interdependent world. At the same time, the regulations and requirements our products need to meet are getting more stringent and demanding. There are too many competing needs and requirements to act independently. An integrated approach is required to connect product development and solution development in all aspects and with all parties involved. A trend of partnerships among governments, OEMs (Original Engine Manufacturers), and fuels, lubricants and additives industries is emerging and becoming a necessity to answer such challenges today and in the future. Chevron Oronite LLC embraces both this integrated approach and partnerships to meet these challenges.
Chevron Oronite LLC, a subsidiary of Chevron Corporation, is a leading developer, manufacturer and marketer of specialty chemicals that provide performance additive solutions to customers globally. We've listened to our customers, then applied our years of field experience and technological expertise to the development of a broad slate of Oronite products, which include lubricating oil additives, viscosity index improvers, fuel additives, and components and chemicals. The Chevron Oronite Technology (COT) organization includes five technology centers located throughout the world: Richmond, California - U.S.A., Rotterdam - Netherlands, Gonfreville & Paris - France, Omaezaki - Japan, and Ghent - Belgium.
