The Wireless Workplace: The Future of the Untethered Engineer, Ian McPherson

Abstract
While the wireless revolution is visible everywhere from homes to hospitals, the process industries, which includes oil/gas, chemical, pharma/biotech, power generation, and metals/mining/minerals, has yet to see much impact from wireless technology. This is starting to change and the effects will range from sublime to profound. This talk will provide some context for the types of technologies that are beginning to reshape the way that manufacturing processes are managed as well as the way in which engineers work.
